I had the BEST time on our South American food adventure! It was the holiday that everyone wants to have - fabulous (and authentic) food, stunning scenery and local guides to tell us all about everything, accommodation that was really special (boutique, unique, stylish and always very comfortable), but best of all, the people that we went with and those that we met on the tour, were great. I just loved the cooking lessons, the music (and the dance tango, salsa), the introduction to South American culture, its history and its remarkable geography and scenery, the markets, the vineyards (have I mentioned how good Argentine wines are?), the restaurants, the shopping. The Taste of South America Tour was a fabulous experience for all the senses. The visual feasts of Rio and Cafayate, the sensuous sounds of Tango in Buenos Aires and Samba in Salvador, the exciting tastes of exceptional food and drink everywhere. The guides were like close friends, the group got on very well and the other people we met during the tour were a delight. The accommodation was excellent and we had experiences we never could have had or imagined on our own. The tour was a lifetime experience that was worth every cent, the only sad thing was that it had to end, but it left a multitude of memories and new interests. There were many terrific adventures on our Brazil and Argentina tour. Our favorite was riding through the Andes on old Ruta 40 from Salta to Cafayate in Argentina. Parts of it had been a six hundred year old Inca road. Gorgeous scenery, wonderful camaraderie, and unique cuisine.
