Regional Flavours

An Exciting Day Tour to Sydney's Southwest Market Gardens

Food Travel Australia

Come with us on a culinary journey to Sydney’s southwest market gardens, just 50 minutes from the CBD. We board our luxury mini coach and head south visiting a variety of primary producers that have included growers of figs, prickly pears, organic vegetables, mushrooms, and a pork and bacon smokehouse. Our day of exploration winds up with a leisurely lunch, a wine tasting and a private farmer’s market experience.

There are opportunities to shop along the way so bring some cash and your cooler bag.
VictorsFood tours include cooking demonstrations and plenty of tastings through the day, plus lunch.

Our usual lunch (and one of our favourite stops) features a unique combination of influences including Tongan Lu and seasonal dishes celebrating the farm’s bounty. The Lu is a method of preparing beautiful vegetables, meat and fish by wrapping them in leaves and cooking in an umu (a traditional underground oven). Read more about this farm in this Sydney Morning Herald Good Living article.

The tours are designed to highlight the produce of the season and to give you an opportunity to go behind the scenes and meet the people who produce our food. Due to the seasonality of produce, the stops will vary from tour to tour. Please enquire about a specific itinerary if you want more detail.

Regional Flavours tours depart from Danks Street, Waterloo, at 9:00am
